Over 180 delegates visited Aberystwyth to enjoy the first Vets Cymru conference this June. The event was aimed at providing continued professional development for practising veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses, with lectures covering equine, livestock and pets. Organised by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA), Wales Veterinary Science Centre (WVSC) and Aberystwyth University, the Vets Cymru programme included several parasite control lectures including from Barrett Centre for Helminth Control (BCHC) member Dr Russ Morphew on his Liver Fluke and Rumen fluke research. Conference organiser and BCHC member Dr Iain Chalmers stated: “Vets Cymru 2019 was a great conference full of interesting talks and practical knowledge, we look forward to running this again in Aberystwyth for Vets and Vet Nurses in the future and thank all who attended, contributed and sponsored the event.”
