We were recently joined by Dr Lindsay Hall, the Microbiome group leader from the Institute of Food Research based at the Quadram Institute who presented a fascinating seminar on the establishment of the microbiota in newborn babies and the important role that this plays in an infant’s growth and development.
In addition to her research interests, Lindsay is also heavily involved in science communication and has brought together scientists, artists and creative designers to create an interactive walk-through model of the human colon, known as the ‘Guardians of the Gut’.
Individuals from across IBERS met with Lindsay to discuss potential avenues for collaboration. This proved to be a hugely productive meeting, and we look forward to collaborating in future. Thank-you for taking the time to visit us Lindsay!
