This week, several members of BCHC attended a ceremony in Buckingham Palace to receive the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for pioneering work in parasitology. Queen Camilla presented the award and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also praised the prize winners.
The prestigious award recognises the work of scientists in the Department of Life Sciences here at Aberystwyth University. In particular, the research of BCHC members on Schistosomiasis and Fasciolosis was specifically acknowledged.
The BCHC are hugely honoured to receive this award and members in attendance including Prof Karl Hoffmann, Prof Jo Hamilton, Dr Russ Morphew, Dr Rhys Jones, Dr Jo Forde Thomas, Dr Chelsea Davis, Ms Sarah Davey and Mr Olugbenga Samuel Babatunde thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony.
Massive congratulations to all involved in the Department of Life Sciences at Aberystwyth University!
