On Friday 13th September, the Department of Life Sciences at Aberystwyth University held the second DLS Festival of Research. After last years success, staff and students were pleased to welcome back the event. This year, there were posters and presentations from across the research groups with a strong ECR presence.
Talks included: Dr. Josephine Forde-Thomas “Leveraging the ubiquitination machinery for drug discovery” and Dr. Rhys Jones “Mapping the discrepancy between farmer perception of liver fluke infection risk areas and actual G. truncatula habitats on Welsh farms.”
Posters included: Dr. Remi Pichon “In vitro sexual dimorphism establishment in Schistosomes”, Dr. Kristin Lees “Screening a protein kinase library for new chemical starting point for Schistosoma mansoni” and Cinthia Oliveira also presented her poster “Neuromodulatory peptides from Biomphalaria glabrata snails and their relationship with susceptibility to infection by Schistosoma mansoni”.
We celebrated another successful year in DLS and look forward to next years event.
