On 25th May, a virtual networking conference between Aberystwyth University and Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) took place to help establish joint future projects with a focus on veterinary research areas. The conference allowed staff and students from each university to share their veterinary expertise and provide a comprehensive insight to the facilities they utilise to conduct their research.
Aberystwyth PhD student Pom Wititkornkul and one of her supervisors Dr. Russ Morphew provided presentations entitled ‘Exploring the Anoplocephala perfoliata secretome: Extracelullar Vesicles for Host Interactions’ and ‘Utilising proteomics for uncovering the host-parasite interface’, respectively. Additionally, Aberystwyth PhD student Sarah Davey provided a poster on her project entitled ‘Histone modification enzyme inhibitors (HMEis) as novel flukicides’.
A follow-up meeting is being planned to help finalise initial joint projects and how the two universities can continue to work with each other moving forward.
