FoodBiosystems DTP Summer School 2024

In July this year FoodBioSystems DTP held a Summer School at University of Reading. This event gave students a chance to network, share research and develop new transferable skills at the workshops. Everyone had an opportunity to present their ongoing research in a friendly constructive atmosphere.

Corey Steele presented her poster on ‘Ruminating over Host-Parasite Interaction Models for Fluke driven Immune Responses’ and won a prize for the best poster. Congratulations Corey!

Olugbenga Samuel Babatunde presented his talk on ‘Isolating the Isolate: Proteomic Profiling of Triclabendazole-Susceptible and Resistant Fasciola hepatica’. Ben-G a second-year PhD student commented on the event “I was able to speak to colleagues in the food chain about the research in animal welfare. This was also an opportunity to discuss the parasitology research going on in the BCHC group with colleagues.”

Our students thoroughly enjoyed the event and we look forward to next year’s FoodBioSystems DTP Summer School!
